Freeze Dried Mushrooms
The Mushroomery is a brand extension of Cookstown Greens which was developed to expand into the mushroom market.
What is Freeze Drying?
Freeze drying is the process of removing water to preserve perishable products to extend the shelf life. The product is frozen then pressurized with a vacuum.
Once this is completed, heat is added to turn the frozen water into a vapour removing it from the product.
Benefits of Freeze Drying:
- Extends the shelf life
- Keeps its original shape
- Maintains the nutritional properties
- The finished product is a fraction of the weight making for easy transportation
- Can be rehydrated to return back to its original state
