Cookstown Greens grows a variety of radishes that are available October to March and sold by the pound.
These organic radishes have a range of heat and peppery flavours, which lend themselves to a variety of culinary uses.
- Black Round Radishes are a black skinned, round root with crispy, bright white flesh. They are slightly bitter, offering a hot radishy bite. The skin is quite piquant so it is best to peel this radish for a milder flavour.
- Green Meat Radishes are green skinned with a white tip, the flesh is green offering a sweet, spicy and juicy bite. These beets are cylindrical and grow up to 6" in length. Enjoy raw, cooked, or pickled.
- Valentine/Watermelon Radishes are a round root with white and greek skin and pink, crisp flesh. The skin is quite piquant, while the flesh is sweet.
- Purple Radishes are purple skinned with a light purple flesh. These beets are cylindrical and grow up to 6" in length. The skin and flesh are both mild and slightly sweet.
