Summer Vegetables

Summer Vegetables
Summer is the season we so much look forward to. Being so short, make as much creative use of these exquisit jewels as you can - right on into the Fall.

Rainbow of Heirloom Tomatoes are carefully nurtured to be absolutely delicious and come in yellow, orange, (ripe) green, “black”, white and red.

Garlic Scapes come from “hard-neck garlic bulbs which  send up a fascinating stalk with a 360° loop.  Loaded with mellow garlic flavour in a very convenient form.

Green Coriander Seeds feature a wonderful exotic flavour of both the green cilantro leaves combined with the warmth of the mature brown seeds.

Radish Pods are the best way to use this popular vegetable when summer heat makes the roots too biting to enjoy.  Serve whole or sliced; raw or cooked.

Cherry Tomatoes also come in a rainbow of colours which are remarkably firm and scrumptious.

Mini Bell Peppers are heirloom “bells” which are sweet, flavorful, tender, colourful and “oh-so-cute”!

Husk Cherries sport an attractive papery skin which can be twisted back to stunningly reveal its luscious “pineapply” golden berry.

Nugget Squash has the enchanting colour and flavour of a winter squash; with the easy-to-prepare tender skin and seeds of a summer squash.  It also has easy-to-stuff open blossoms.

Armenian Cucumbers are botanically melons; but they deserve an honoured place in your kitchen as a fine textured, creamy and rich “cucumber”.

Baby Fennel Bulbs provide the refreshing licorice flavour during the hot summer months when it is most appreciated.

Cavaillon Melons have a perfumy aroma which connoisseurs just love.  Very tricky to grow, these heirloom jewels can never be cheap.

Pole Beans are known to have the very best flavour and texture.  But they do require expensive poles to climb; and expensive daily harvesting.

Huckleberries are blueberry-like cousins to the tomato.  Our selection is totally non-bitter so they can be presented raw on desserts.
